Where to stick FASTag on vehicle?
FASTag sticker works via RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology, allowing contact-less readouts easily through glass. It is always better to stick the FASTag in top centre of the windscreen, just behind the rear-view mirror and to be pasted from inside. Sticking the FASTag in centre of the windscreen helps in easy and troublefree scanning at all toll gates as the scanner is placed in the middle of the roof. If you doesn’t have space behind the rear-view mirror, then you can stick the tag a bit left to the passenger seat side. The tag should be placed in an unobstructed location and not behind any metal plating, as it will hinder the radio waves communicating with the system.
The tag comes with glue on one side to be fixed on windshield. Once the FASTag sticker is pasted, do not try to remove it or reposition it. If the FASTag is removed or repositioned, it will no longer work as the RFID circuit gets damaged. Passing through FASTag toll plazas without the sticker will make the individual liable to pay twice the toll charges through cash.
If the FASTag gets damaged, then raise a replacement request by contacting the tag issuing bank with your mobile number against which the tag has been registered along with the vehicle registration number or tag ID.
