How does ANPR work?
An Automatic Number Plate Reader (ANPR) is a technology used for automatically recognizing and reading the license plate number of a vehicle. ANPR systems use optical character recognition (OCR) technology to read the license plate number.
An ANPR camera captures an image of the vehicle number plate. A reader locates the vehicle registration mark (VRM) and scans the letters and characters on the number plate so that they may be recognised using optical character recognition (OCR) software.
